Waiting for Someday...

>>> Sometimes it's the little (expensive) things that make me happy ...

When I was a kid there were a lot of Thimbleberry patches in my neighborhood, my friends and I would make a plan to pick the berries and make something from them... usually we ate more than we saved, the ones that weren't gotten to by the bugs already anyway.
My mom would make strawberry and raspberry jam every year and I always wished she could make thimbleberry jam.
it's taken me almost 34 years to get some.
I was in the local fresh produce market and since this is michigan they have the display of cherry products, then I came across a local product.
There was my THIMBLEBERRY JAM !!!
ok so I paid way entirely too much ($13) for a little jar of mushed up berries, But damn will it be good on toast with coffee some lazy sunday morning.
I've noticed I have been indulging myself in little things like this since he's been gone... there is no way I would have bought this while he was still in the house he would have thought I was insane... maybe i am for that matter.... But I am a happy insane person. With thimbleberry jam on her lips.... MMMMM
